I'm a staff writer, on-air reporter, and content creator for the Arizona Cardinals, where I help tell the stories behind the NFL's oldest franchise. Since joining the Cardinals in 2023 straight out of Penn State, I've been part of the organization's award-winning content and creative team, covering the team year-round across written, digital, video, audio, television, and social platforms.
My work includes writing feature stories, breaking news, game coverage, and long-form player profiles for azcardinals.com while serving as an on-air personality across the Cardinals' media platforms. I co-host Cardinals Birdwatch, the team's weekly television show that airs on Arizona's Family, and produce my own feature segment, Inside Voices, where I break down the team's biggest storylines, expand on my reporting, and incorporate exclusive soundbites from players and coaches. I'm also a weekly analyst on the Red Sea Report radio show, discussing the latest team news, game strategy, and storylines throughout the NFL season. In addition, I hosted The Pulse with Zach Gershman, contribute to the Cardinals' official podcasts, appear on local radio and television, and cover the team through every phase of the NFL calendar, including training camp, the NFL Draft, free agency, game days, and community events.
In 2025, I was part of the Cardinals team honored with a Rocky Mountain Southwest Emmy Governors' Award for our work on Civics Matters Arizona 2025.
At the core of everything I do is storytelling. While I enjoy breaking down the X's and O's of football, I'm most passionate about earning the trust of players, coaches, and staff to tell the stories that go beyond the jersey number. Whether it's documenting a rookie's journey to the NFL, highlighting a veteran's impact off the field, or capturing defining moments throughout a season, I strive to create content that connects fans with the people behind the game.
That passion started long before I entered an NFL locker room. At 12 years old, I launched ZachOnSports, a YouTube channel where I shared sports commentary, conducted interviews, and connected with local and national sports personalities. What began as a childhood hobby quickly became a lifelong pursuit, shaping the journalist and storyteller I am today.
I graduated from Penn State University in 2023 with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism, a minor in Sports Studies, and a certificate from the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism. During my time in Happy Valley, I worked with GoPSUSports, the Big Ten Network, and ESPN State College while earning recognition at both the regional and national level, including:
Whether it's interviewing players in the locker room, writing articles, or broadcasting in front of the camera, I'm just doing what I've loved since day one… or at least since I was 12.
